HP Laboratories published some research back in January 2009 on revealing actual interactions among people of massive online social networks. The example of social interactions within Twitter reveals that the driver its usage and exploding growth is a sparse and hidden network of connections underlying the “declared” set of friends and followers.
webevangelisten.de did a great analysis of currently active german twitter users. I like the approach, very smart. There are about 27,000 active twitter users in Germany.
The only advertisement platform for Twitter I could find in a brief search was Magpie – I can’t believe that after all that publicity Twitter got in the US presidential campaign that noone else is capitalizing on it.
